Sudanese Army Repels Coordinated RSF and SPLM-N Attacks on Sali and Bakori
The Sudanese Armed Forces (RSF) repelled two simultaneous attacks launched on Monday by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its ally, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), led by Joseph Tuka. The attacks were launched from Ethiopian territory and targeted strategic areas in the Blue Nile Region in the south-east of the country.
A military source told Ultra Sudan that the first attack began at dawn and targeted the strategic area of Sali, approximately 35 kilometres north of the border town of Al-Kormuk. Army forces and their supporting units successfully repelled the assault and forced the attacking forces to retreat.
Following the failed dawn attack, the militia and its allies launched a large-scale assault from two directions in an attempt to seize the strategic area of Bakori. However, the army’s defences completely foiled the plan.
The source confirmed that the Armed Forces had inflicted heavy casualties and equipment losses on the attacking alliance, and seized quantities of weapons and fully equipped combat vehicles. He added that mopping-up and pursuit operations were still under way along the Al-Kormuk axis to secure the border strip.
