In Fiercest Attack Yet, 16 Airstrikes Target RSF in Nyala
NYALA (Sudanese Echoes) – The Sudanese Air Force carried out a series of sustained airstrikes from the early hours of dawn until mid-morning for the third consecutive day, as part of a precision aerial operation conducted by the Sudanese Army.
Mohamed Didan, spokesperson for the Special Operations Forces, said the Air Force had conducted 16 airstrikes and established full control over the skies above Nyala after neutralising all air defence systems belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Sources said the bombardment targeting RSF positions in Nyala killed Brigadier-General Khula Mohamed Shorba and 17 other rebel officers. The strike precisely targeted their gathering in Al-Nahda neighbourhood.
The sources added that Brigadier-General Shorba had carried out the attack on the Zamzam camp in North Darfur State before the fall of El Fasher last year.
