RSF Drones Attack Power Distribution Stations in Merowe and Kassala

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia continued its attacks on Sudan’s ‎energy and electricity infrastructure, targeting three electricity ‎distribution stations in Kassala and Northern states on Monday, ‎leaving large areas without power.‎

For a week, electricity stations across most parts of Sudan have been ‎subjected to systematic drone attacks. More than 17 electricity ‎distribution stations in the states of Al-Gadharef, Khartoum, Al-Gezira, ‎Red Sea, Sennar, White Nile, South Kordofan, River Nile, Northern and ‎Kassala have sustained attacks and extensive damage, causing power ‎outages in several cities and disrupting vital sectors.‎

Local sources told Sudan Tribune that an RSF drone attacked the ‎Aroma and New Halfa electricity distribution stations in Kassala State ‎early Monday, destroying both stations and cutting off electricity ‎across the state.‎

The sources added that the air attacks also targeted the electricity ‎distribution station in the city of Merowe in Northern State, near ‎Merowe Dam, one of Sudan’s largest hydroelectric power generation ‎facilities.‎
