The Public Prosecution requests Interpol to issue a red notice to arrest Hamdok
The Sudanese Coordination of Civil and Democratic Forces (CCDF, in Arabic Taqaddum) submitted a memorandum to the International Police Organization (Interpol) to reject a request submitted by the Public Prosecution in Sudan to issue a red notice against prominent leaders in the coalition.
The Attorney General, Al-Fatih Tayfour, had said in an interview with Sudan TV, that the Public Prosecution had issued extradition warrants against 346 fugitive defendant militia figures, and issued a red notice against 16 supporters of the rebellion.
The Legal Committee in “CCDF or Taqaddum” said in a statement that it had submitted an official memorandum to Interpol demanding the rejection of the request submitted by the Public Prosecution to issue a red notice against a number of its leaders, headed by the CCDF Head, Abdullah Hamdok.
The statement considered that these accusations represent attempts to tarnish the reputation of the leaders. The Public Prosecution had issued arrest warrants against the leaders of “CCDF or Taqaddum”, most notably the head of its leadership and former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, on charges of cooperating with the outlaw Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
