Supporting with Evidence… Sudan files a complaint against Chad to the African Union

On Friday, November 1, 2024, the Republic of Sudan, through representatives of the Committee for the Establishment and Follow-up of International Claims against the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF), their leaders and the countries supporting them, and with the authorization of President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), filed a complaint against the Republic of Chad with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights of the African Union at its headquarters in Banjul, the capital of Gambia, in accordance with the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

The complaint included facts, documents and conclusive evidence proving Chad’s involvement in supporting and backing the rebel RSF militia in its violations and crimes against the state and people of Sudan, including genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, including murder, rape, sexual violence and forced displacement, in addition to vandalization of infrastructure, recruitment of children, plundering of public and private property and occupation of citizens’ homes.

Chadian support for the outlaw RSF militia played a fundamental role in its rebel committing these violations and prolonging the war.
