Sudan’s Foreign Ministry: A gang (militia and its sponsor) carry out heinous terrorist crime against civilians at a shelter in Atbara

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the heinous terrorist crime committed today by the RSF Janjaweed militia, by bombing Al-Mogran shelter center in Atbara, killing 11 displaced persons (IDPs)—including 4 martyrs from a single family—and simultaneously shelling the Atbara Conversion Power Station.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that terrorist militia, in its attack on defenseless civilians in Atbara, employed advanced drones supplied by its regional sponsor, as it also provided the long-range heavy artillery the militia uses to attack IDPs and destroy hospitals, markets, and food warehouses in El-Fashir and its surrounding.
Following the consective defeats it has suffered in recent months across all battlefronts, the Ministry stated, the RSF terrorist militia resorted to such cowardly terrorist tactics. It has been persistently targeting power stations nationwide, within its genocidal campaign, as attacking energy infrastructure disrupts water plants, hospitals, and all essential services.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the latest escalation of the militia’s crimes against civilians came just days after the United Nations Security Council renewed its demand of RSF to stop its attacks on displaced persons and lift its siege of El-Fashir. This is yet another expression by the militia of its blatant defiance of international legitimacy and extreme disrespect to global condemnation of its crimes against humanity.
Therefore, the Ministry stressed, unless the international community takes concrete measures to end the impunity so far extended to the terrorist militia and its regional sponsor, mere appeals and condemnations will not effect a change in the behavior of this savage gang.
