Sudan bans import of Kenyan tea, complains about Nairobi to international organizations

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, revealed escalatory measures against the Kenyan government and the Kenyan president, due to its interference in the internal affairs of Sudan, and hosting activities of the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its allies targeting the security, stability and unity of Sudan.
He added, during the weekly briefing of the Ministry of Culture and Information, that the measures would be escalating and gradual, unveiling steps by the government to take economic measures that include banning the import of Kenyan products, particularly that Sudan is considered one of the largest countries importing tea from Kenya, noting that this step is preceded by arrangements, including arranging and finding alternatives.
MFA Undersecretary added, “We will send complaints to international organizations against Kenya and we have addressed the heads of the international organizations of which we are members,” expecting international criticism and measures against this Kenyan interference in Sudanese affairs.
Ambassador Al-Fadil said that Kenya, represented by its president, has been interfering in Sudan’s affairs and supporting the rebellion since the beginning of the war, indicating that the Kenyan president has personal relations and interests with the militia commander.
He explained that the step of hosting the rebel militia meetings is considered a blatant interference in Sudan’s internal affairs and a violation of all international covenants and agreements.
