Saudi Arabia and Sudan Sign Agreement Establishing Coordination Council

 

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohi-Eddin Salem at the Saudi Foreign Ministry headquarters in Riyadh on Monday, where the two sides signed a document establishing the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council, according to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two ministers also co-chaired a meeting of the Joint Follow-up and Political Consultations Committee, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop and strengthen cooperation across various fields. They also discussed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on them.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expand joint cooperation across different sectors.

In a subsequent statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry confirmed that the two ministers had signed the document establishing the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council.

The ministry said the council was established in response to the two countries’ desire to raise the level of cooperation and coordination between them. It will serve as an effective institutional platform for developing and strengthening bilateral relations and provide a framework bringing together relevant institutions from both sides to work toward concrete outcomes through clearly defined initiatives, projects and targets.

The council will also focus on developing joint initiatives and projects based on clear objectives and tangible outcomes, helping enhance coordination and integration between the two countries and advance the aspirations of their respective leaderships and peoples.
