Ethiopian Opposition Forces Destroy Entire RSF Convoy Inside Ethiopia

A significant military development has been reported along the Sudan-Ethiopia border, with Ethiopian media sources reporting fierce armed clashes near Blue Nile Region that resulted in the destruction of an entire military convoy belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia after it entered areas controlled by Ethiopian opposition forces.

According to sources who spoke to the Shahid Ayan (Eye Witness) platform, Ethiopian opposition forces launched a swift and intensive attack on the RSF convoy shortly after it entered territory under their control, completely destroying the convoy amid escalating military tensions along the Sudan-Ethiopia border.

The escalation comes as military operations intensify in Blue Nile Region, where fierce clashes have taken place in recent days between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF militia. Reports have indicated that the RSF received ground and air support from Ethiopian forces and aircraft during the fighting.

The sources also said Ethiopian opposition groups are increasingly concerned about attempts by the RSF to expand its influence and military movements into areas under their control.

They linked these movements to plans to draw the RSF into Ethiopia’s internal conflicts and support Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government forces, which the sources described as weakened after suffering a series of defeats on several active fronts, particularly in Benishangul-Gumuz, Tigray and Amhara regions.
