RSF Launches Wide-Ranging Arrest Campaign Against Civilians in West Kordofan
Field sources have revealed that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has launched a sweeping arrest campaign targeting civilians, including women, in areas north of Al-Nohod and in Eyal Bakhit, in West Kordofan State, over accusations of cooperation with the Sudanese Army, according to Al- Onwan24.
Meanwhile, the militia arrested 25 civilians — 10 women and 15 men — in the area of Om Maraheek, in Al-Khuwei locality, West Kordofan State, on what were described as baseless accusations of cooperating with the army and providing coordinates.
According to the Dar Hamar Emergency Room, the militia imposed an arbitrary 24-hour ultimatum, threatening to execute the detainees collectively if a drone struck its gatherings. The group described the threat as a barbaric precedent reflecting the most egregious forms of terrorism.
The Dar Hamar Emergency Room said it was making the facts clear to the militia, pointing out that some of its leaders and rank-and-file members in the area wished to surrender and were the ones providing the coordinates. Rather than arresting innocent civilians and venting its anger on them, it urged the militia to review its own ranks and groups instead of targeting unarmed women and herders.
