Minawi: Movements do not recruit civilians, there is no dispute between the Joint Forces and Kaykal

The Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minawi, who oversees the joint force of armed struggle movements, confirmed that there is no dispute with the Sudan Shield Forces led by Maj. Gen. Abu Agla Kaykal, while denying any recruitment operations carried out by armed movements.
Meanwhile, Minawi advised the state leadership against forming a “truncated” government under any name (technocrats or otherwise), calling on the leadership to form an umbrella entity for all parties fighting for the army under the name or umbrella of the “Dignity Party.”
During a Ramadan iftar for journalists at his home in Port Sudan, Minawi said that the leadership must organize the Dignity Party and bring together all parties involved in the Dignity War under one umbrella or body. He called on the leadership not to waste time on what he called “empty talk” about “democratic transition and a technocratic prime minister.” He continued, “This is a time of war, and after the country is liberated, we can talk about democratic transition.” Minawi stressed the need for the current government to remain a de facto government until the war ends, leading the country into elections.
In the same vein, Minawi claimed that the implementation of the Juba Agreement previously would have spared the country war. He said, “If the security arrangements agreement signed in Juba had been implemented, the situation would have changed, and war would not have broken out in Sudan.” He accused certain parties of tampering with the agreement and obstructing the implementation of security arrangements, creating the environment for this war.
