Health Minister: 18,000 cancer patients in Sudan are at risk of death

 

Health Minister Haitham Ibrahim revealed that about 200 hospitals were vandalized and put out of service by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

 

The minister said, in an interview with the Qatari Newspaper (Al-Sharq) that all cancer treatment hospitals have been put out of service except one hospital, revealing that the number of cancer patients in Sudan amounted toabout 18,000 patients, all of whom are at risk of death due to the geographical distance of the hospital from the patients, in addition to the waiting list.

 

Haitham stated that the rebel RSF militia plundered the ministry’s pharmaceutical supplies, estimated at $600 million, adding that some of the medicines were exported abroad.The minister pointed out that the insurgent RSF militia burgled more than 200 ambulances.
