Head of Sudanese People’s Party: Sudanese politicians are (childish and opportunistic)

Interview: Hossam-Eddin Abu El-Azaem

Head of the People’s Democratic Party Yahya Haj Nour advised Sudanese parties to leave politics and move towards voluntary work to contribute to returning citizens to their homes during this period, at the same time he called for tearing up the constitutional document, declaring a state of emergency and authorizing the army to rule until the country stabilizes.

Haj Nour said, in an interview with (Sudanese Echoes), that the constitutional document, parties and democracy were linked, in the people’s minds after the war, with the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia that sought to bring democracy from within citizens’ homes.

Haj Nour harshly criticized the parties seeking to rule during the war and the transitional period. He said that any direction by politicians to rule and power now is considered (childish and opportunistic). He explained that any talk about elections and civil rule in light of this war is (irresponsible talk).

Haj Nour called on the army commanders not to be polite after the war, saying, “The people will not remain silent about this.” He continued, “And we will not remain silent either.”
