Government of Sudan threatens to expel some international organizations

The government has threatened to expel and take action against any organization or agency registered in Sudan that does not abide by the controls and foundations of humanitarian action, revealing at the same time that it has begun to take action against those who contribute to spreading false information against Sudan, pledging that anyone who spreads false information will not practice any activity in Sudan. The World Hunger Observatory had claimed that the scope of the famine in Sudan has expanded to 5 regions and is likely to extend to five more regions by May. The Observatory includes 19 international organizations.
The Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Salwa Adam Benya, denied, during the joint press conference of the Ministers of Agriculture, Information, Health and Foreign Affairs along with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) on the food security situation in Sudan in Portsudan Sunday, what is being rumored about the claims of famine in Sudan. She said that it was a complete fabrication, stressing that all the elements that determine the existence of famine do not exist in Sudan, as there are no joint surveys conducted at all, and it is not possible to impose an incorrect reality, pointing out that some organizations have agenda under the pretext of food, “We reject involving humanitarian action in political work.” She said.
