Ghost Warplanes Terrorize Al-Daglo

The local government headquarters, used by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as a site for managing civil affairs, in the city of El-Daein, East Darfur, was bombed with guided missiles on Sunday, as part of the violent war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF.
A similar airstrike with missiles was launched on Nyala, South Darfur, on Thursday and Saturday, targeting Nyala International Airport, which the RSF had reactivated and used for military missions.
The Social Security Hotel was also attacked.
Eyewitnesses told Sudan Tribune that the government secretariat headquarters in El-Daein was bombed with missiles, completely destroying it. They indicated that the bombing also targeted the health insurance headquarters in El-Daein.
The bombing sparked panic and fear in El-Daein and Nyala.
Witnesses confirmed that they had not seen warplanes flying over the two cities, which are witnessing intensive meetings between the militia and its allies regarding the formation of a parallel government.
The militia and its allies are likely to use Nyala as the headquarters of the parallel government they announced their intention to form it this March, following the adoption of a transitional constitution stipulating that government structures include sovereign, executive, legislative, and regional levels.
An army source told Sudan Tribune that warplanes launched airstrikes on RSF military targets in both Nyala and El-Daein.
A militia commander, however, claimed that the army bombed Nyala with a ballistic missile after airstrikes were impossible for fear of their forces shooting down warplanes.
He pointed out that the bombing caused minor damage to the runway at Nyala Airport and damaged the Social Security Hotel, from which the militia conducts some of its activities.
