Foreign Mercenaries’ Phones Confiscated in Nyala

Nyala, (Sudanese Echoes) – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) ‎intelligence service in Nyala has imposed strict security measures, ‎banning the use of Thuraya satellite phones and confiscating the ‎personal phones of foreign fighters and mercenaries immediately ‎upon their arrival in the city.‎

The online platform Shahid Ayan (Eyewitness) quoted special sources ‎as saying that the precautionary measures targeted groups of foreign ‎fighters who recently arrived in Nyala from the Ethiopian area of ‎Assosa. Strict instructions were issued prohibiting the use of any ‎wireless or personal communication devices while they were in the ‎vicinity of Nyala Airport or in the city center.‎

According to the information received, the intensive intelligence ‎measures followed the detection of communications and coordination ‎from inside the city with the army’s Air Force intelligence to determine ‎precise coordinates of the positions of Janjaweed government leaders ‎and senior militia officers.‎

The sources indicated that the measures were aimed at concealing ‎new arms shipments expected to arrive in the city in the coming days.‎
