El-Fashir Resistance Committees: The Siege Will Not Be Broken by Committees, Conferences, or Empty Promises

El-Fashir – Sudan Echoes

El-Fashir Resistance Committees called on the leaderships of Darfur and the federal authorities to take immediate action to end the siege of the city.

This came after the “Committee to Lift the Siege of El-Fashir,” comprising civilian figures and Darfur movements, held a conference in Port Sudan.

In a statement, the committees said El-Fashir has been living for months under a suffocating siege, with residents suffering from severe shortages of food and medicine, in addition to a communications blackout.

They stressed that the city cannot withstand further waiting, warning that “Al-Geneina scenario” will repeat itself if neglect continues.

The coordination body accused Darfur leaderships and federal authorities of “repeating empty slogans, holding fruitless conferences, and forming committees that only waste time and export illusions.”

It emphasized that the siege cannot be broken by “paper decisions, statements, appeals, or initiatives.”

According to the statement, the only way to end the siege is by mobilizing forces, activating air power, deploying drones, and striking enemy gatherings wherever they move or settle.

“The enemy only understands the language of force and retreats only under the pressure of fire,” the committees declared.

They further warned: “Anyone who thinks that conferences in Port Sudan or newly formed committees can stop the advance of the militias is either delusional or complicit.”
