Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army: Little remains to win the war

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Shams-Eddin Kabashi, affirmed the state’s support for Khartoum State at this stage in appreciation of the steadfastness of its wali (governor) and citizens who endured the ravages of war and the practices of the militia that left the battlefield and began directing its weapons to kill defenseless citizens in the markets and inside their homes.
Kabashi visited the Secretariat-General of the Khartoum Government on Monday, accompanied by the Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, TSC Member General Yassir Al-Atta, and met with the members of the state government and the Security Committee.
TSC Member pledged to adopt projects supporting the state, directing the ministers of the federal government to respond to Khartoum’s requirements at the current stage. He reassured citizens that there are several variables that will limit the militia’s targeting of citizens, adding that this war is the people’s war and that the armed forces are fighting in the name of the people. “We have come a long way in ending the war, and little remains.” He said
For his part, the Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, briefed TSC Member on the pillars of the state security plan, the declaration of a state of emergency, and the issuance of decisions to track down sleeper cells and monitor security threats. He said “The challenge is still great and its size increases as the security zone expands and the need to provide services to citizens increases.”
