Marawi: Zarroug Abdel-Fattah

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) General Abdel ‎Fattah Al-Burhan called on the people of Darfur, Blue Nile and ‎Kordofan to rest assured that the Armed Forces are coming to drive ‎the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia “out by the roots.”‎

Speaking to a gathering of citizens in the Northern State town of Amri ‎on Tuesday, Al-Burhan reassured the people of Darfur, Kordofan and ‎Blue Nile that “we are coming to reclaim all areas occupied by the RSF ‎militia,” adding: “We are not coming to ask or plead, nor are we ‎coming to beg anyone for their rights.”‎

Al-Burhan stressed that the Armed Forces are moving toward all areas ‎where the militia is present to uproot it and eliminate it completely, ‎adding: “We repeat once again: there will be no negotiations with any ‎party. We are not talking to anyone about this, and we have nothing ‎new [to say].”‎

Al-Burhan said Sudan is a state of institutions, and that the existing ‎legitimacy is represented by the Armed Forces, police and other ‎security forces, as well as the Security and Defense Council, which are ‎responsible for deciding matters related to negotiations, peace and ‎war.‎

He continued: “I do not decide whether to negotiate, nor does Minni ‎‎[Minnawi], nor does anyone else. No individual can take a position ‎unilaterally.”‎
