Sudan’s Gold Exports Exceed $2 Billion in Nine Months
The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company has recorded record levels of gold production, revenues and gold export proceeds from January to September 2026, marking the company’s highest performance since its establishment.
The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company is the government entity responsible for overseeing and regulating Sudan’s mining sector under the Ministry of Minerals. It regulates traditional and organized mining activities, formalizes investors’ operations, ensures compliance with safety and environmental requirements, and implements social responsibility programs in mining areas.
In a press statement obtained by Sudan Tribune, the company said its executive office held a meeting on Tuesday at its headquarters in Khartoum to review cumulative performance through September, which showed record levels in production, revenues and export proceeds.
Gold production reached 105% of the target set for 2026, while revenue collection reached 131%, with revenues totaling SDG 1.886 trillion. Gold export proceeds amounted to $2.292 billion.
