Foreign Mercenaries’ Phones Confiscated in Nyala
Nyala, (Sudanese Echoes) – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) intelligence service in Nyala has imposed strict security measures, banning the use of Thuraya satellite phones and confiscating the personal phones of foreign fighters and mercenaries immediately upon their arrival in the city.
The online platform Shahid Ayan (Eyewitness) quoted special sources as saying that the precautionary measures targeted groups of foreign fighters who recently arrived in Nyala from the Ethiopian area of Assosa. Strict instructions were issued prohibiting the use of any wireless or personal communication devices while they were in the vicinity of Nyala Airport or in the city center.
According to the information received, the intensive intelligence measures followed the detection of communications and coordination from inside the city with the army’s Air Force intelligence to determine precise coordinates of the positions of Janjaweed government leaders and senior militia officers.
The sources indicated that the measures were aimed at concealing new arms shipments expected to arrive in the city in the coming days.
