On Sunday, Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Preparing the Environment for Return in Khartoum State, Lt. Gen. Engineer Consultant Ibrahim Jabir, announced that authorities would take immediate measures to seize any vehicle carrying weapons within the state and redeploy it directly to combat zones in Kordofan.

During a meeting with a press delegation in Khartoum, Jabir stated that the committee is ready to provide full explanations regarding its plans for rehabilitating the capital, noting that the government is working on a new vision for urban development and improving the economic environment.

He added that media outlets should follow the committee’s field efforts to restore stability in the state, emphasizing that the work focuses on providing essential services and ensuring the basic livelihood of residents.

Jabir met with the press delegation, headed by Deputy Head of the Sudanese Journalists’ Union, Mohamed Al-Fatih, and including editors-in-chief, columnists, and representatives of electronic media, during a visit aimed at reviewing the committee’s work on removing the remnants of war, securing the situation, and resuming the operation of vital facilities.

The press delegation is scheduled to conduct tours of several government institutions, service facilities, universities, and private sector entities, in addition to holding interviews with citizens to gauge their opinions on the return process and its requirements.
