Airstrikes in “The Triangle” … Sudanese Army Advances in Kordofan

Cairo News reported that clashes continue on multiple fronts in the Kordofan region, coinciding with a broad advance by the Sudanese Armed Forces in several areas. The army successfully destroyed combat vehicles belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the border triangle with Egypt and Libya.

According to Cairo News, the area west of Al Obeid witnessed heavy fighting yesterday morning, while the western and northern fronts of the city saw significant progress by the Sudanese Army.

These operations are part of efforts to dismantle RSF deployments around the state. Meanwhile, the southern front of the city experienced back-and-forth skirmishes between the two sides. In Bara, under army control north of Al Obeid, Sudanese forces conducted active movements.

Areas near the border with South Kordofan also saw noticeable field activity and sporadic clashes, amid indications that the Sudanese Army is preparing to advance toward Kadugli city.

Cairo News also noted that RSF militias still occupy several sites, including Umm Sayala, which the army briefly recaptured before withdrawing.

Military experts suggest that the withdrawal may be part of a strategic manoeuvre by the RSF to regroup at designated positions before being targeted in a wider offensive. Meanwhile, Dilling city remains under militia siege.
