Sudan Tops Agenda in Trump–Saudi Crown Prince Talks in Washington

The Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, affirmed that Saudi Arabia is a pivotal partner of the United States within the framework of the “International Quad,” stressing the importance of joint coordination between the two countries on regional and international files.

Boulos told Al Arabiya that U.S. President Donald Trump intends to discuss several bilateral issues with Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, foremost among them the humanitarian situation in Sudan, which he described as “the largest humanitarian crisis in the region.” He noted that Sudan is an Arab nation, a member of the Arab League, and a neighboring country to the Kingdom.

Boulos added that these discussions come within the context of enhancing bilateral cooperation and strengthening the strategic relationship between Riyadh and Washington, with a focus on critical issues affecting regional security and shared interests.
