Deaths and Injuries in Drone Strike on Kosti
At least five people were killed and others injured on Tuesday in a drone strike carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, targeting two fuel stations in the city of Kosti in White Nile State.
Local authorities condemned the attack as a terrorist act, stating that it directly targeted civilian neighborhoods and service facilities in Kosti and Rabak.
Officials reported that the victims included five civilians, among them a woman working as a tea vendor, and nine others were injured.
The state government described the attack as a flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian norms, accusing the RSF militia of systematically targeting vital infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, water and electricity facilities, and markets.
Authorities pledged to pursue those responsible and bring them to justice, while calling on the international community and human rights organizations to take a stronger stance against such violations.
