RSF Militia; SPLM–Al-Hilu Forces Mass Around Dilling

A local monitoring platform has warned of troop build-ups by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM–N) led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu in the eastern, northern, and western outskirts of Dilling, South Kordofan State.

According to Tara Sudan, the platform urged the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) to act swiftly to protect the residents of Dilling from what it described as “crimes” committed by these forces.

The Nuba Mountains Platform reported that RSF militia and SPLM–N forces are positioned in Al-Tekmah area and Khamis villages east of Dilling; in Al-Farshayah, Al-Sanjakayah, and Al-Kadr to the north; and in Al-Faraqil, Al-Hejairat, and Abu Saybah to the west.

It added that large concentrations of RSF militia and SPLM–N troops have also gathered in Juld and Lagawa, about seven kilometers from Dilling.

The platform said the RSF militia and SPLM–N forces have released videos and issued threats against residents of Dilling.

Artillery attacks were reportedly launched by these forces from Jebel Al-Faraqil, west of Dilling, on Thursday and Friday, November 6–7, 2025, killing and injuring several civilians.

The Nuba Mountains Platform held SPLM–N leader Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu responsible for allowing RSF forces to enter South Kordofan.

The joint RSF militia and SPLM–N artillery bombardment on Thursday and Friday targeted Dilling city, including the government hospital and residential neighborhoods, killing and wounding several civilians.

Dilling has been under siege by RSF and SPLM–N forces since June 2025, with main roads linking the city to Kadugli, El-Obeid, and Al-Dibaibat — the major urban centers in Kordofan region — blocked.
