Sudanese Talks Under Arab-African- International Patronage in Addis Ababa

A senior source at the Arab League revealed that the first round of Sudanese talks will soon commence, under the auspices of the African Union, the Arab League, the United Nations, and IGAD, aiming to broaden the circle of understanding on ways to advance peace in Sudan.

The source told Asharq Al-Awsat that the talks will take place at the African Union (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa and will include the Democratic Bloc, Sumoud, and a number of political parties and civil society organizations in Sudan.

He noted that this round of Sudanese talks will be the first to be held under joint Arab–African–international sponsorship since the outbreak of the war in Sudan in mid-April 2023.
