RSF Militia Intends to Establish Centers to Train and Export Mercenaries in Nyala
According to informed field sources, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia have begun establishing a military college to train and qualify its forces in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, amid escalating fighting with the Sudanese army in western Sudan.
The sources confirmed to “Al-Onwan 24” that the militia has already begun recruiting foreign experts specializing in operating drones, as part of an advanced training program aimed at enhancing the efficiency of its fighters, particularly in the fields of technical warfare and field intelligence.
This move reveals a new trend within the RSF militia toward utilizing modern military technologies as part of its ongoing war with the Sudanese Armed Forces, particularly in the western fronts, which are witnessing a continuous escalation.
According to sources, the militia is working in coordination with its loyal native administrations to recruit volunteers from tribes in South Darfur and Kordofan, preparing them for military training programs and then deploying them to the battlefronts, particularly in Kordofan and Darfur states.
This movement is part of the Rapid Support Forces militia’s strategy to strengthen its ranks amidst the escalating fighting. The militia seeks to expand its combat human base by supporting loyal tribes and integrating them into organized training programs.
The sources pointed out that the military college being established adopts a military training curriculum imported from an Arab country, without specifying the country. This suggests the presence of external support or coordination with regional parties within the framework of professionalizing the Rapid Support Forces.
The establishment of the military college in Nyala, along with the tribal polarization and intensive recruitment, raises real concerns about the militarization of Darfur and its transformation into a center for exporting mercenaries.
Political sources fear that this move could be a prelude to the establishment of a parallel army for the Rapid Support Forces, effectively separate from the official military establishment, a matter that could deepen the national crisis and lead to further disintegration of the state structure.
