33 companies suspended… Sudanese government declares war on violating mining companies

The Sudanese Ministry of Minerals has announced that it has taken strict measures against (33) mining companies by not renewing their mining waste treatment contracts. This step reflects the ministry’s serious commitment to regulating the sector and ensuring compliance with the laws and regulations governing mining activity in the country.

The Ministry of Minerals confirmed that these measures came as a result of the companies’ violations of the terms and conditions contained in the mining licenses and contracts previously granted to them, in addition to their clear failure to pay the state’s financial dues.

The ministry considered this a serious violation that affects the rights of the state and local communities.

The ministry explained that this decision came within the framework of its plan to comprehensively regulate the mining sector and ensure compliance by all operating companies with applicable laws and regulations.

It also aims to protect the state’s financial and sovereign rights and safeguard the interests of local communities affected by mining activities.

The Ministry of Minerals issued a direct warning to all mining companies operating in the country, urging them to fully comply with the terms and conditions of their contracts and to fulfill all their financial and legal obligations without delay or manipulation.

The Ministry stressed that negligent or violating companies will no longer be tolerated.

The Ministry vowed to take all necessary legal action against any party that violates the law or deliberately squanders the state’s rights, affirming that the next phase will witness greater decisiveness and strict controls to ensure transparency and integrity within this vital sector.
