Army Thwarts Imminent Attack on Al-Dalang, Air Force Destroys Rebel Positions in 30 Strikes

The Sudanese Armed Forces announced a major battlefield success in the vicinity of Al-Dalang, after foiling a large-scale and coordinated attack planned by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in cooperation with a faction of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).

According to military sources, the Sudanese Air Force carried out more than 30 precise and intensive airstrikes targeting militia positions along the eastern and southern axes of the city, dispersing the attacking forces before they could reach their objectives.

Ground and air operations reportedly resulted in the destruction of dozens of combat vehicles—including 36 vehicles in the latest waves of attacks—as well as the seizure of military equipment, communications devices, and motorcycles.

The Military sources further indicated that hundreds of militia fighters and foreign mercenaries were killed, including senior field commanders, while the remaining forces fled toward surrounding rural areas.

The army’s command in Al-Dalang (54th Brigade) confirmed full control over forward defenses and the securing of the city’s entry points, stressing that the high vigilance of troops prevented the execution a “sabotage plot” aimed at cutting the strategic road linking Al-Dalang and Kadugli.

The statement added that these developments underscore the unity of will between the armed forces and local residents in confronting any threats to the sovereignty and security of the region.
