Warplanes Annihilate Entire Militia Military Convoy in North Kordofan

Tensions are escalating at an unprecedented pace in the Kordofan region following a wave of intensive airstrikes and precision attacks carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), resulting in the destruction of large military columns and entire convoys belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, amid growing indications of an imminent expansion of fighting across the region.

A military source told Al Arabiya that Sudanese Air Force fighter jets launched intensive air raids targeting RSF military columns in the Om Suneita area, northwest of North Kordofan State.

The source confirmed that the strikes destroyed approximately 80 combat vehicles and completely wiped out a major militia convoy.

Simultaneously with the airstrikes, field sources reported that army-operated drones carried out precision attacks targeting RSF positions and strategic sites in the areas of Hamrat-As-Sheikh and Jabrat-As-Sheikh in North Kordofan. The attacks destroyed an entire military convoy, burned its combat vehicles, and inflicted heavy losses on the militia in both personnel and equipment.

Meanwhile, sources speaking to Al Arabiya and Al Hadath reported a state of heightened mobilization and extensive military buildup within RSF ranks over the past two days. According to the sources, the militia dispatched substantial reinforcements and additional forces from South Darfur State toward the Kordofan region.

The reinforcements reportedly reached the cities of An-Nuhud and Abu Zabad in West Kordofan State, while other units positioned themselves west of Bara, as well as in Hamrat-As-Sheikh and the Jabal Abu Sunun area in North Kordofan, near El Obeid, the state capital.

The information further indicated that the forces deployed by the RSF command from Darfur to Kordofan include military experts and foreign fighters, among them Colombian nationals, supported by advanced air defense and electronic jamming systems.

Intelligence and field reports also point to apparent RSF plans to launch a large-scale offensive targeting one of the major cities in North or South Kordofan, in an attempt to open new battlefronts against the Sudanese army following the severe losses recently sustained by the militia in fighting along the Dilling axis in South Kordofan and the Blue Nile region in southeastern Sudan.
