Trump’s Adviser: Agreement Reached to End War in Sudan Through a ‎Negotiated Settlement

U.S. President Donald Trump’s Senior Adviser for Arab and African ‎Affairs, Massad Boulos, affirmed that the Quad countries had agreed ‎to end the fighting in Sudan through a negotiated settlement between ‎the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).‎

In a statement posted on the social media platform X on Saturday, ‎Boulos said the Quad countries had agreed to use their ‎communication channels and influence, collectively or individually, to ‎engage with the military parties in Sudan.‎

He added that the Quad countries would engage with the Sudanese ‎parties to reach a negotiated settlement that would end the fighting in ‎the country, stressing that “there is no military solution to the ‎conflict.”‎

Boulos explained that the Quad, comprising Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the ‎United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United States, had held what he ‎described as a “fruitful” meeting in Geneva to accelerate efforts to ‎advance peaceful solutions.‎

He said the anticipated peace efforts in Sudan would include a ‎humanitarian truce paving the way for a permanent ceasefire, ‎ensuring the delivery of humanitarian assistance, and supporting the ‎decisive efforts of the Quintet Mechanism to launch an inclusive ‎Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue. ‎
