UAE threatens to stop supplying RSF militia
A well-informed source close to the Chadian presidency reported that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has told the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that it may stop supporting the forces unless they are able to control El-Fashir before November 15.
According to a source who spoke to Sudan Tribune, the militia forces have begun looking for alternatives to support the UAE by exchanging gold for weapons using Neyala Airport, which has recently witnessed increasing activity. Press reports indicated the resumption of artisanal mining in the Songo mine in South Darfur State, which is under the control of the militia.
The Africa Intelligence website, which specializes in intelligence affairs, reported that the UAE plans to reduce the rate of spending on the RSF militia, militarily and logistically.
