Sudan Energy Ministry: No Fuel Crisis, Supplies Remain Adequate

The Sudanese Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has confirmed the availability of petroleum products and sufficient fuel reserves, stating that supplies to service stations are continuing normally.

Khartoum witnessed a fuel shortage on Sunday, with hundreds of vehicles forming long queues outside service stations amid varying supply levels in several areas.

In a statement issued Sunday, the Ministry said petroleum products were being delivered smoothly to service stations, noting that allocations to Khartoum State had been increased to meet citizens’ needs and support the ongoing return and reconstruction program.

The Ministry explained that congestion and temporary variations in supply at some service stations do not constitute a general fuel crisis, attributing the situation to distribution and transportation operations and the ongoing reorganization of supplies according to the actual needs of different areas.

It further affirmed that coordination with companies operating in the oil sector was continuing to ensure the smooth flow of petroleum products and strengthen supply stability, particularly to meet the needs of vital sectors and citizens.
