Sudan’s ambassador to the UAE rebels
Sudan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdulrahman Sharfi, refused to implement a summons order from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and did not comply with diplomatic norms, as he did not implement or respond to the summons letter, according to what a senior source in the Foreign Ministry confirmed to (Sudanese Echoes).
Sources said that the ambassador will not attend or surrender himself except to a government elected by the Sudanese people, according to his claim.
The Foreign Ministry sent a letter to the ambassador on October 15, 2024, signed by the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anas Al-Tayib Al-Jailani, in which he indicated that the ambassador’s failure to attend at the specified time will lead to administrative measures being taken against him.
The ministry issued another letter on October 19, in which it explained that due to the ambassador’s failure to respond to the previous telegram, it was decided to transfer him to the Headquarters of the Ministry as of October 21, 2024. It added that his entitlements will be linked to the Headquarters of the Ministry as of October 22, 2024.
