Sudanese Communist Party: Proposing Secession or Self-Determination Is Not a Solution to the Sudanese Crisis

The Sudanese Communist Party has said that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia’s declaration of the formation of a parallel government headed by Hemeidti poses a grave threat to the country’s unity.

In a statement issued by its Politburo, the party described the parallel government as “illegitimate,” warning that the existence of two governments would repeat the scenario of South Sudan’s secession, especially in light of the reference to the “right to self-determination” included in the documents of the “Ta’asis” coalition.

The party accused Hemeidti’s militia of committing war crimes, including genocide, sexual violence, and ethnic cleansing, stressing the need to end impunity and work to restore a democratic civil state.
