Army Carries Out Swift Operation, Captures Large Number of Militia Members
Spokesman for the Special Operations Forces, Mohamed Dedan, announced that the forces had carried out a swift pre-emptive and interceptive military operation outside their usual areas and positions of control.
In a post on his Facebook page, Dedan explained that the operation targeted a position where members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia had taken cover. The advancing groups caught them by surprise and forced them to surrender following a brief engagement. The confrontation resulted in the capture of a number of militia members, including the brother of a prominent field commander holding the rank of brigadier.
The military spokesman added that the forces carrying out the operation succeeded in completely disarming the militia members and seizing the weapons and ammunition in their possession at the targeted position, with no casualties among the Armed Forces.
