Sudanese Army Regains Control of Um Sumaymah, Advances Toward Al-Khowei
Field sources reported that the Sudanese Army, alongside the Joint Force of allied armed movements, recaptured on Friday the town of Um Sumaymah, located west of El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State.
According to the same sources, the army and its allies pursued the militia from Um Sumaymah—around 50 kilometers west of El-Obeid—towards the outskirts of Al-Khowei in West Kordofan State, about 100 kilometers west of El-Obeid. Intense battles are ongoing between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) along the western axis of El-Obeid.
Meanwhile, the Joint Force of the armed struggle movements confirmed, in a statement, that the military operations are proceeding according to plan, stressing that the battlefield reflects precise implementation of the preparations with determination and resolve.
