South Sudan rejects Hemeidti’s request to withdraw his forces to Upper Nile

Sources close to the delegation of President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), that visited Juba, reported that Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo Hemeidti requested, via a phone call, the government of South Sudan to allow his forces, which are being pursued by the Sudanese army, to withdraw deep into the state of Northern Upper Nile.
The sources noted that Dr. Riek Machar, First Vice-President of South Sudan, rejected Hemeidti’s request.
