RSF official’s convoy was robbed

The executive director of the civil administration in the Belail Locality, South Darfur, and his companions were subjected to an armed robbery by unidentified gunmen who attacked his convoy last Saturday evening as he was returning from an official mission outside the area, according to multiple sources.

A well-informed source within the civil administration in the Belail Locality, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Darfur 24 that the locality’s executive director, Salah al-Din Ahmed Ismail al-Mog, was accompanied by the locality’s civil administration advisor, a health officer, and the financial collector when masked gunmen stopped them near the Belail market.

The director was heading to his home in Al-Tadamon neighborhood, only about 40 meters from the market.

The source explained that the gunmen looted all the mobile phones and a sum of money that the financial collector had in his possession.

Another source reported that a police force and Rapid Support Forces pursued the perpetrators but were unable to apprehend them.
