RSF militia Storms Zamzam Camp, Killing and Injuring Thousands

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia has stormed Zamzam Camp after a large portion of the displaced and mobilized people withdrew from the camp towards El-Fashir.
While the militia announced its control of Zamzam Camp after large-scale attacks on the camp for the third consecutive day, coinciding with violent clashes in El-Fashir, thousands fled Zamzam Camp to the city after militia fighters led by Gedo Abenshouk began humiliating the displaced persons (IDPs).
A video clip circulated by activists on social media showed the mass displacement; another clip displayed the militia arriving at the camp’s police station.
For his part, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner for North Darfur, Abbas Youssef, said in a press statement, that the militia’s attack on Zamzam Camp resulted in the displacement of 70,000 families. He pointed out that the Commission is monitoring the ongoing displacement movement, which has exacerbated the humanitarian situation, coupled with water scarcity resulting from the destruction of water sources in Shagra, west of El-Fashir.
The militia has destroyed groundwater sources in Abu Shouk camp and El-Fashir, and disrupted water supply lines to El-Fashir from the Golo Dam.
