RSF Commanders Evacuate Families from Darfur and Explore ‎Surrender Options

Senior commanders within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia have ‎begun large-scale evacuations of their families from the cities of Nyala ‎and Al-Daein to neighbouring countries, including Chad, Egypt and ‎South Sudan, amid growing fears of sudden shifts on the battlefield in ‎the Darfur region.‎

According to local sources cited by the Shahid Ayan platform, internal ‎discussions among these commanders have revealed a clear ‎acknowledgement that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) are ‎advancing and that their options for manoeuvring on the battlefield ‎are narrowing. The sources indicated that individuals close to the ‎commanders had offered direct advice to surrender to the army and ‎establish direct channels of communication with the Sudanese ‎Military Intelligence Authority before regular army units advance ‎towards their current positions.‎

Local sources also described field commanders as viewing the current ‎situation as “frightening,” amid mounting concern that the army could ‎make a sudden entry into any area of Darfur as fighting fronts ‎continue to evolve rapidly.‎
