Misseiriya Tribal Leaders Agree to Send Delegation to Meet Al-Burhan and Disavow the Dagalo Family
Local media sources in West Kordofan State have revealed that a number of prominent Misseiriya tribal leaders and figures have agreed on a proposal to send a high-level tribal delegation to meet the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, in the Sudanese capital at the end of this month.
The decision followed an extensive and heated meeting held by tribal leaders in the city of Al-Mujlad on Saturday to prepare for the meeting with the TSC President, formally announce the tribe’s disavowal of the militia’s practices, and reaffirm their full support for and backing of the Sudanese Armed Forces in the Battle of Dignity.
Meanwhile, political activists from West Kordofan State have circulated reports that the tribal leaders had received preliminary approval and support for the initiative from tribe members serving in the militia’s ranks. The reports indicated that a large number of these fighters arrived in Al-Fula last week from battlefronts in the Kordofan theatre, where they openly declared their refusal to return to the battlefields.
