Official denies monkeypox cases among deportees from Egypt

A Sudanese official denied on Tuesday the existence of monkeypox cases among deportees from Egypt.
SUNA quoted the Director of Quarantine in Halfa, Dr. Al-Moez Majzoub, as saying that “the suspected cases at the Ashkeit crossing among the deportees from Egypt, who arrived, are bacterial skin infections and not monkeypox as circulated through social media. He added that the cases were presented to a dermatologist, and they are five young men among those deported from Egypt, noting that they were detained in the isolation center in Halfa to complete the examination and treatment processes.
