Minawi: Meetings held with Al-Burhan to Resolve Partnership.. We Are Not Ashamed to Discuss Our Power Sharing
The Head of the Sudan Liberation Movement and General Supervisor of the Joint Force, Minni Arko Minawi, has revealed that shuttle meetings were held over the past two days in Port Sudan with President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, to discuss the fate of the partnership.
The General Supervisor of the Joint Force and Governor of Darfur Region told Sudan Tribune, “We have not discussed the issue of quotas yet, and we decided to resolve the issue of partnership first.”
Minawi stated that the meeting concluded with an underscoring of the Juba Agreement, but later said, “The ball is now in their court.”
Minawi defended their efforts to maintain the partnership in accordance with the Juba Agreement, saying, “Discussing the issues of power and its distribution, as stipulated in the agreements, is at the heart of the political work for which we came out and paid a heavy price.” He continued, “This is not something shameful.” He added, “We are in the stage of resolving the partnership fate. Without a partnership, there is no point in talking about power-sharing.”
The Juba parties held a third meeting with the Prime Minister on Saturday, discussing the positions of all parties.
The meeting with Idris emphasized that the Prime Minister’s communication with all partners be equitable.
