Massive RSF Defection in Kordofan Involving 276 Combat Vehicles
Informed sources in West Kordofan State revealed a major split and field mutiny within the ranks of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the Kordofan front, following the refusal of three combat groups to comply with direct orders issued by the militia’s second-in-command, Abdel-Rahim Dagalo.
The sources said the groups, stationed in the areas of Al-Khuwei and Ghubeish and comprising around 276 combat vehicles with their full crews and weapons, rejected Dagalo’s orders to establish forward defensive lines and dig trenches around those areas. They decided to immediately abandon their positions and head towards the city of Al-Fula.
The field commanders of these groups attributed their refusal to follow the military orders to their lack of familiarity with fighting from within trenches, as well as the limited time available to dig them, with Sudanese Armed Forces units approaching and now on the verge of entering and taking control of those areas at any moment.
