Major Defection: Field Commander “Al-Savanna” Joins Sudanese Army

Media sources reported a high-profile defection from the rebel terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF), as field commander Ali Rizq Allah, widely known as “Al-Savanna,” announced his split from the group and his alignment with the Sudanese Armed Forces.

Sudanese journalist Muzammil Abu Al-Qasim, known for his proximity to the army leadership, said Al-Savanna had surrendered himself along with his forces and equipment, following the earlier defection of commander Al-Nour Al-Gobba.

Al-Savanna is considered an influential field commander, and his defection comes at a sensitive time amid rapidly shifting battlefield dynamics. Observers suggest that successive defections by senior commanders represent a significant blow to the RSF’s command structure, reflecting internal fractures and declining morale.
