Khartoum Raises State of Alert… Security Committee Conducts Dawn Inspection of Checkpoints and Crossings

As part of ongoing efforts to maintain security and uphold state authority, the Khartoum State Security Affairs Committee, led by the Wali (governor) Ahmed Osman Hamza, continued its late-night inspection tours of fixed and mobile checkpoints and crossings until the early hours of the morning.

The tour covered Greater Omdurman, which includes the localities of Omdurman, Ombadda, and Karari.

Beginning in Omdurman Locality, the committee inspected its checkpoints and crossings, reviewed inspection procedures, and ensured the enforcement of regulations under the Emergency Law.

The committee confirmed the presence of security formations carrying out their duties and instructed that vehicle movement be prohibited after 11 p.m., in line with the curfew imposed by the state government, except for emergency cases.

The committee then proceeded to Ombadda Locality, inspecting its checkpoints and crossings spread across the area bordering neighboring states.

The committee members made several observations while commending the strong presence and performance of all security forces, emphasizing the importance of tighter monitoring to prevent violations and security breaches.

The tour concluded in Karari Locality, where the committee stressed the need for full vigilance and high standards of control and performance.

The Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, stated that the committee was reassured by the alertness and readiness of the checkpoints and crossings in all their locations. He confirmed that the state has raised its level of preparedness, paying tribute to the members of the regular forces and all units and soldiers who work tirelessly to protect citizens and ensure their safety.

He also called on citizens to be partners in the security process by reporting any potential threats they observe, pledging to continue such inspection tours across all localities at different times.
