Kaykal: No Rifts Between Army, Joint Forces, Al-Bara’oun and Sudan Shield

In his first public appearance and statement following circulating rumors of his injury or death after an attack on his residence, Sudan Shield Forces Commander Major General Abu Agla Kaykal categorically denied the reports, affirming that he is in good health and continues to carry out his duties on the frontlines.

Kaykal said that mourning for the martyr Azzam Kaykal “is not observed in gatherings,” but rather continues on the battlefield where missions are accomplished—an indication of the continuation of military operations without retreat. He stressed that the targeting of his home and family members by what he described as mercenaries would only strengthen their resolve, affirming their determination to “liberate every inch of Sudan from Blue Nile to Darfur.”

Responding to what he described as disinformation campaigns, Kaykal urged the public not to be misled by false reports aimed at undermining the unity of forces supporting the army. He denied the existence of any internal divisions, stressing that these forces operate “as one body under unified command.”

He further stated that the targeting of civilians, particularly women and children, reveals—according to his account—the nature of the parties behind such attacks, noting that such acts will not affect the course of operations or the cohesion of the forces.

He affirmed that coordination between supporting forces and the army remains ongoing, adding that all are fighting “in one trench” to confront what he described as conspiracies targeting the country.
