Sudanese Echoes: Al-Taj Osman
Eyewitnesses disclosed that quantities of agricultural seeds ransacked from Al-Gezira Scheme by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia are on display for sale in Darfur markets in areas under the control of militia elements.
A source confirmed, in the context of a journalistic investigation by (Sudanese Echoes) about the devastation and destruction inflicted by the RSF militia on Al-Gezira Agricultural Project, that the militia’s goal was not to (occupy) the city of Wad Madani, but to (destroy) Al-Gezira Scheme under the direction of external parties, as when they entered Wad Madani city they were asking the citizens (where is Al-Gezira Forest where cotton is grown), meaning the Gezira Scheme, pointing out that all the sieves, harvesters, tractors and warehouses of the project were plundered, along with most of the homes of the scheme workers, which number 33,000 homes.
